ARE YOU READY FOR ENACTMENT OF THE RENTERS RIGHTS BILL?
The Renters Rights Bill returns to the House of Commons on 22nd October so could potentiallybe enacted (become an Act) next week.
Are you ready?
- Has your tenant received all of the necessary documentation before, at the start and during the tenancy? (See the information in the Members Area if you are unsure).
- Do you need to review your tenancy agreement – updated document for CRLA members
- Are you ready to send out new documentation?
- Do your tenants understand the implications of their tenancies becoming periodic, particularly those with joint and several tenancies?
- Do you know the new Section 8 grounds for possession?
CRLA members are encouraged to contact us to discuss concerns, members of other landlord associations should consider contacting those associations. Any landlord who does not already belong to an association should seriously consider joining one. Remember your fees are tax deductible.
Helen Thomas of Stephens Scown will be speaking at our General Meeting on 4 November and all landlords are welcome to attend.
